Update on dissolution of partnership
(Edit 1: a clarification added at the bottom of the post is added on 14:20, 8/2/2021) Hi uWavers! This is an update on the dissolution of the partnership. 1. We removed the posts of several users that wanted to have their account deleted. A moderator, because of the news of dissolution of the partnership, found the content suspicious and therefore deleted them, banned them, and reported it as spam to us. (In a form of crisis management) The founders of uWave do not condone such actions. We removed the authority of this person to moderate the content. We wish to apologise for that as it was unprofessional conduct. Any requests for deletion can be done currently by emailing [email protected] or by feedback through the profile settings page. 2. We wish to clarify the data that we are collecting: - Username - User email - Matriculation number (if submitted) - User photo - Industry-standard hashed password - Timetable for users that pasted theirs for future synchronisation feature - Discussions posts and comments - Days where the app is used to give user points - Statistics on usage of our features and services (but are not tied to any user’s account) If you wish to find out more on how the data collected is being used do refer to https://wavenow.co/datapolicy/ & https://wavenow.co/termsofservice/ 3. We will add in a feature in the settings page to request for account deletion in the upcoming app update. 4. Regarding the unitales post that was deleted by mistake due to bugs on the Admin side of the app, we still decided to proceed with deletion of the post as it contains hateful speech in general, that breaks a guideline of the community. 5. Lastly, the uWave founders apologise for our false message as per point number 1, any other misunderstandings that occurred. The team will continue looking at where we went wrong and improve on our processes. Thank you for supporting and using uWave! === Edit 1: On point (1): There were 3 users that requested for their accounts to be deleted, which was not posted in spam sequence but continued to posted after their initial post was deleted by the mentioned moderator.

As a developer of uwave, we don't even ask for the permission to get Ur device info(the most basic permission to know about u) like every other apps do. I don't feel offended but I laugh at his lack of professionalism when he tried to acuse for data privacy.
